HIVQUAL U.S., managed by the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute, promotes, strengthens and sustains the capacity and capability of HIV ambulatory care organizations funded under Part C and Part D of the Ryan White Treatment Modernization Act. The aim of this project is to provide the highest quality of care to persons living with HIV in the United States and its territories.
HIVQUAL builds the skills of Ryan White-funded programs to measure, monitor and improve the quality of care that they deliver. HIVQUAL U.S. focuses on melding these performance measurement and quality improvement activities while emphasizing the importance of programmatic infrastructure to support them both.
HIVQUAL developed the HIVQUAL software, which allows providers to measure and report HIV performance data, to assess the organizational capacity of programs to conduct improvement activities, and to learn from a library of publication on quality improvement. Its dedicated team of healthcare professionals works with HIV programs in different regions of the country to provide on-site technical assistance.
