NQC Fellowship Program

Training future quality improvement leaders is a priority for the National Quality Center (NQC). We are pleased to launch the NQC Quality Management Fellowship Program, which provides training, tools and resources to members of the Ryan White community who have demonstrated interest and potential in leading regional quality improvement activities.

The overall purpose of the Fellowship Program is to:

  • Strengthen the individual quality improvement skills of participants and further develop the individual’s capacity to become a quality champion
  • Increase the pool of improvement experts within the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program
  • Advance and broaden the participant’s HIV public health career

Throughout the 12-month Fellowship Program, participants are engaged in a number of activities that provides them with new quality improvement skills and knowledge, including:

  • Personalized coaching by quality improvement experts
  • Monthly conference calls for group learning
  • Quarterly virtual learning sessions on key quality improvement topics
  • Design and implementation of a quality improvement project within his/her HIV-care organization
  • Complete an individual or group field study that will benefit the larger Ryan White community

The NQC Fellowship Program now seeks applications from individuals who are actively engaged in quality improvement and who wish to become effective quality improvement leaders.  Ideal applicants include:

  • Leaders of quality management programs, including medical directors and/or senior public health officials responsible for a Ryan White Program-funded grantee
  • Senior quality managers of Ryan White Program-funded grantees
  • Individuals with strong potential to assume leadership positions in quality management within a Ryan White Program-funded grantee

Potential participants are asked to complete an online application form which includes a screening tool to assess their quality improvement knowledge, and to submit a letter of support from the participant’s HIV agency leader and a current curriculum vitae.  Applicants are selected by NQC in collaboration with the HIV/AIDS Bureau and HIVQUAL-US to ensure appropriate representation across DHHS regions and Ryan White funding streams.  Upon successful completion of the Fellowship, all graduates will receive official recognition by NQC and their profiles will be featured on the National Quality Center’s website.

For detailed information about Fellowship objectives, activities and requirements please refer to the NQC Quality Management Fellowship Concept Paper.
